i am looking for quick pick-upper because my sad friend met with me in a nearby fastfood chain and needed a shoulder to lean on. when i got home, my friend texted (or sent me a sms, for the american people!) me about their recent break-ups. kaya pati ako, nalulungkot. ito naman kasi.

so i look for jokes. in facebook!

My Bucket List: WOW PHILIPPINES!
just anime
[info]iamsuperjam
I first heard the term "bucket list"* from the movie with the same title. Basically it's a list of things to do before you die. I have several written in my head, but the very first one I made on paper was a Wow Philippines Bucket List. You see, while other Filipinos dream of vacationing in a winter wonderland, my daydreams are located in my country. So I spent one afternoon marking places I've been to and places I've yet to see. I'd like to share them with you in hopes that you can make your own.

✓ Hot Air Balloon Festival
✓ dive in Puerto Galera
✓ dive in Anilao
✓ Punta Fuego, Nasugbu
✓ Corregidor (which is in Cavite pala. Always thought it was in Bataan.)
✓ Sorsogon, Legazpi and swim with whale sharks in Donsol
✓ Puerto Princesa, Palawan
✓ Hundred Islands in Pangasinan
✓ climb Mt. Banahaw
✓ climb Mt. Makiling
✓ camp in Antipolo
✓ Pagsanghan Falls
✓ dive in Malapascua
✓ Bantayan
✓ The National Museum and the Museum of the Filipino People
✓ Batanes
✓ Pagudpod
✓ Vigan
✓ Laoag
✓ Surf in La Union
✓ trekking/spelunking in Sagada
✓ Banaue Rice Terraces
✓ longest Zipline in Asia and White Water Rafting in Cagayan de Oro
✓ Sinulog in Cebu
✓ Dinagyang in Iloilo
✓ Boracay in 2006, 2008, and 2009. Don’t really wanna go back though.
✓ Bacolod (I want to go for the Masskara Festival.)
✓ Baguio  "Magda-drive ako hanggang Baguio..."
✓ Subic

in the part of diving and surfing, maybe it'll stay as my dream because i'm wearing glasses, like forever. i can't just take it off. if i do, it's like part of my soul have been ripped off. boo.

i want to go to Subic on my 18th birthday, honestly. but, i also want to go back to Baguio. argh. whatever.

dear me.

[info]iamsuperjam
 dear me,

i have watched the "me commercial" we've created just last night. it was like the dumbest video we have ever made in our whole life because we were so used to play the windows movie maker this past few years. in that video, i also noticed that my photo-editing skills have, err, what shall we call it, degraded? yeah, maybe degraded is the right word. all i know for editing photo are blemish fix, focal soften, collage, and putting frames.

i have also shown the whole world how clumsy i am and the flaws i have. i am human. i'm no goddess. i only stay in corner with my friends and don't really like to put myself in spotlight. i think it's because of my childhood memories where some people labeled me as bulol and bungol (and would laugh out and actually had themselves fell from their seats whenever i recite the declamatory speech my teacher proud of) that could have been dragging me down to low self-esteem. i never realized i've brought them up till now. i remember i would only feel  enlightened when i'm only with my family, my bestfriends, my dog and whenever i'm in church, and when participating in charity organizations, especially when they are related to deaf & mute.

now that i'm in college, i first thought that no one will befriended me with my condition like this. i thought it was a good thing that i have yadee, whom we met through my reliable blog, by my side.

but on the other side of my brain, i knew i was surrounded by these great people. i have to overcome my fears. true enough, i have befriended all my blockmates. before i knew it, i already learned to love them. maybe i should declare about their it's-okay-jam-because-at-least-you-can-speak dialogue. one interviewer even complimented me for having a good communication skills and high verbal score (whaddya call that?).

hay. i felt so proud that i have stepped out of my comfort zone, way far from the small city and small world i was accustomed to back in tacloban.

now, i think i'm going to cry...

and my stomach complained of its emptiness na.
sige, babay na.

I LOVE YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH FOR READING MY CHEESEFEST ENTRY. :'>

i had to open my friendster account in search of pictures for my nstp assignment to be submitted next week (i really have to go away with my procrastination habit!). i got a little bit homesick as i viewed my old pictures, ranging from my last year in elementary up to my junior year in high school (my senior year pictures are in my facebook). here are some of my nakakamiss na moments.

the two different types of chocolate-colored skin (my classmate said it, 2009) had... bunuay? i forgot.

my friend justin was so proud of it. really.

i'll also never forget the EPIC-failed attempts in jumpshots(?).
and we made it!

in my new school, i was jaw-dropped when i discovered there is not only mcdonalds as an unintended extension of southville, there's also wendy's twenty stall, a pizza parlor, a bonggang tea house, a dimsum stall, and many STALLS i haven't tried on eating what's on their menu.

but,

walang tatalo sa manihan ni manong, and the fishballs, hotdog and kikiam, and the delicious pancakes outside our school.

okay, i think i have to eat my lunch na. i'll pack this with me in my dream.

1. in a school with mixed races, there's always a surprise for you in a day.

2. you can drop any subject... or in all subjects.

3. 3 absences in each subject in a semester = OUST.

4. there are rules, yet some students won't follow unless handbooks are given.

5. laundering clothes 2 days straight may give you a beautiful wound in your knuckles.

6. sleeping is a luxury *thumbs up!

7. library is useful, VERY USEFUL!

8. time-management is the best tool you can use, and you can't live without wrist watch.

9. you need not to ask permission from teachers, este, professors when going out of the classroom.

10. orgs is a must, or else you're not going to graduate. (but i still don't have orgs. hihi.)

11. i was capable of joining debate club (accdg. to our M.U.N. test)... yet i stammers in front of many people.

12. we girls are as powerful as boys (gen psych)!

13. walking around in heels can strain your feet...

14. and it's embarrassing to walk around in library with your shoes clonking. (lib's note: OBSERVE SILENCE)

15. you need to write faster to catch up on your prof's lecture then all of the sudden, "I'm going to post this in our Moodle* ." so much for giving efforts.

16. laptop is your bestfriend, you know SISC has wi-fi...

17. and visiting social-networking sites (i.e. Facebook) is a violation. you may get caught by this unknown office by tracking your IP ad and student ID. oops.

18. instead of staying outside classroom, you prefer staying inside because classrooms are AC.

19. you really have to know your blockmates' numbers and their FB accounts to keep track on schedule and assignments, quizzes, activities... blahblahblah...

[info]iamsuperjam
i'm sorry for not updating my blog more than a week (and, do someone really cares to read my blog, anyway?!). i've been busy with assignments, reports, completing requirements, *analyzing* confusing schedules and rooms, and blahblahblah and blahblahblah, IN JUST 2 WEEKS!

but i tell you, i enjoyed those weeks. thanks to my being friendly for a week, i made friends with my classmates (what do you call that, blockmates?). i admit i haven't remembered their names at all, especially from those who are in different program enroled in. but of course, whenever i run into them, i smile or greet them. this is my first facebook status after my classes:

I ACTUALLY HAD A BLAST. Hearing my shoes clonking, walking from not only room to room but from campus to another campus, having classmates from other country and actually talking to them, eating my new friend's McDo fries and meeting good professors is enough for me to say I'M NOW IN 5TH YEAR HIGH! ♥

but the 2nd day of my college days is two times fun. our last subject is fil 01, and our professor is a funny one. all we can do in her class is to laugh while introducing ourselves. she has this "ice breaker" activity wherein every 15 minutes, the youngest in our class will declare TIME'S UP then do something that has nothing to do in our subject, like singing, games (we did the wowowee's HEP HEP, HURRAY. the last two players were filipino & korean) laughtrip, et al.

i can't seem to bring my camera since it was only weeks the classes begun. also, i'm shy to take pictures around with me bringing up my camera out then foreigners will look at me weirdly. try to imagine that, and actually witnessed one student did what i was supposed to do.

that's why as of now, i can't provide even one picture of our chic comfort room and uber-airconditioned classroom (it was only then i realized the true value of my blazer).

okay, i have to eat dinner now. thank you for reading my dumb-ass entry. to those who read this, I LOVE YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! <3

Southville, here i come!
just anime
[info]iamsuperjam
yeah, college na talaga ang ito!

i can't believe i'm already college. it was like i was high school a few days before and before i knew it, i enrolled in this school, taking psychology instead of my ever-dream-course aviation because of my hearing problem, and actually wearing uniforms, as i had promised myself since grade 6.

why southville?

i was supposed to be in philippine normal university. but because there were no more slots in psych for me, i took exam in lyceum and actually landed in top 6! i must have been there, if it weren't the fact that i have to go underpass (what if flood stikes?) and long walk from gate of intramuros or taking a trysikad (and though a bit short-distanced, it actually cost more than php10!).

i want to try in living in a boarding house or dorm to nearer in lyceum, and at least to cut costs. but my parents didn't agree with me. so i landed in southville, where my aunt works. it has actually a good records in acads and sports, contrary to what was written in forums. and because the boarding house where my cousins stay is only a less-than-100-steps walk, i didn't have second thoughts in taking their exam. what made me sad was the fact that i am not going to university for now. i want to study in a university, but fate has it, i'm going to study in college. i'm going to wear purple-and-yellowish white uniform, and for the first time in my life, strutting in low-heeled school shoes (am i expecting blisters?)!

but i make sure that i don't have regrets. i want my freshman year to be a fulfilling and enjoyable one.

bukas, KOLEHIYALA NA AKO!

Lost in Translation

[info]iamsuperjam
Yes, I am going to Southville International School & Colleges as a BS Psychology freshman.

And that I have to board in a school-managed boarding house nearby. In less than 100 steps to walk from and to boarding house, I would be in school na! Now, that's the coolest thing.

I think of this summer as the most productive yet, because I learned how to hand-washed (not machine-laundered) my laundry, cooking simple meals without assistance, manage my own money and working for it, and at the same time, meeting and dealing with different kinds of people I encounter everyday.

You'll also get a glimpse of the culture of people from different places, especially when you're living with a foreigner. We have Korean board mate. I've got to get used to weird smell of Kimchi in our refrigerator, and speaking with him everyday is like I'm back to kindergarten again. Like one evening, he had a fused (or blown?) bulb in his hand and planned to buy a new one.

But...

Korean Guy: What's this called?
Me: Bulb.
KG: BHAAHB? BHAAAAHB?
Me: Bulb, as in B-U-L-B.

 When he came back,

Me: Hey, have you bought a bulb already?
KG: (Laughing) Nah.

Instead, he bought dinner from nearby McDo.

Ahh, the language differences...
